Please note that the purpose of this website is to provide professional book
reviews for our clients. We are aware that there are many "bait and
switch" schemes on the Internet; however, our website is one of integrity, and
no one involved with this organization will ever use the reviewing service to
obtain additional work. We would consider this unethical in every way.Having said that, let me add that some of our reviewers often choose
to point out errors in a book to an author when the number does not exceed the
average of 28. This is a courtesy so that if authors require a reprint in
the future, these errors can be corrected. Again, allow me to emphasize
that in such cases there are no additional fees.
Sadly, when there are an excessive number of errors in the first few pages of
a book, our reviewers will usually inform authors that they will be unable to do
the review. In some instances, a reviewer may give the author the
option of having the book returned or mention in the review that there are
excessive errors. If the author chooses not to proceed with the review, he or
she will be asked to send the required postage to the reviewer who will then
return the book to them.
If an author initiates a request for the
reviewer to proof or edit a book, this is perfectly fine, and the reviewer has
the option of whether or not to accept this job. But please understand that this
is a contract between the author and reviewer; website hosts have no
responsibility for the outcome. Although our reviewers do have exceptional
editing and proofing skills, we suggest that you ask for references and a sample
of their work before utilizing their services. Our website offers
suggested fees for various services when a job is the result of the use of this
website.
