Question:  What is a ghostwriter?

Answer:  A ghostwriter is a person who is willing to use his/her talents to write another person's book, article, etc., and receive absolutely no credit for creating the work.  In other words, a non-writer who wants to get something into print hires a professional writer to create the copy.

Question:  What are your qualifications as a ghostwriter? (Directed to Bettie Corbin Tucker.)

Answer:  First I have been published by mainline publishers.  Using the pen name of Beth Sterling I wrote The Thorn of Sexual Abuse that was published by Baker Book House.  In addition, I have written five other books and ghostwritten for several authors.  I have edited a nationally circulated magazine, written for other magazines, newspapers and  TV stations.  As the founder of  Rainbow's End Publishing, I have read thousands of manuscripts, making  decisions, along with my staff,  as to the ones that we would accept for publication.

Question:  If you ghostwrite for me, does that guarantee publication?

Answer:  Absolutely, not!  If any ghostwriter promises you such a thing, I would be very cautious.  It does mean; however, that I will present you with a professionally written and prepared manuscript that you can submit with confidence. You will still need to study the markets, submit the material to appropriate editors, follow submission guidelines, and be smart in your selection of possible publishers.  As a self-publishing advocate, I want to remind you that there are now inexpensive ways of getting your work into print.  One example is the use of  POD (print on demand services) that take advantage of the newest technical information.  E-books are also another option.

Question:  Will you explain in more detail what you mean by POD?

Compared to an offset press, this method uses a higher speed direct-to-image electrostatic process with a toner blend that reproduces photographs well.  There is no film or plate.

There is no inventory, no warehousing, and best of all, few, if any, unsold copies or returns.  The books are printed according to the demand.   These are books of professional quality and  the appearance is equal or superior to trade books traditionally found in bookstores.  I have personally viewed samples and was very impressed. If you have been previously published or want to bring back an out-of-print book, visit www.unlimitedpublishing.com

Question:  How much do ghostwriters charge?

Answer:  This varies according to the  writer's experience, success and reasons for being a ghostwriter.  It is not unusual for a  ghostwriter to charge a minimum of  $60.00 per hour.  My usual fee is $50.00 per 8 1/2 X 11double-spaced page; however,  I have a waiting list of clients, so you must schedule in advance.  The fee is also dependent upon the amount of research involved, complexity of the subject,  and the number of pages involved.  My ghostwriting services are for both fiction and non-fiction works.
