Glenda Bixler

A day doesn't go by without one or two books in Glenda's handsmostly fictionsince retiring from West Virginia University where she worked in administration for nearly 38 years. During that time she wrote and published many pamphlets and major reports, including ones for trade magazines in the fields of, first, personnel, and then, primarily, in facilities planning and management.

As Glenda moved toward retirement, she worked part-time as an editor for Rainbow's End Publishing Company.  Ms. Bixler also edited the works of individual published authors, including Enid Portnoy, Make Their Days; Joseph Fortney, One Man's Madness; Meredith Campbell, Righteous Warriors, Thomas Kemp, The Road From Here to Where You Stay, et. al.

Usually reading five to eight books a week, Glenda's book reviewing experience has ranged from ongoing contributions online to being accepted for publication in Planning for Higher Education. She especially enjoys writing reviews for those books by new authors, to help encourage them in their careers.  She has also taken on the task of editing many of these books when time permits. Glenda favors mysteries, thrillers, suspense, but dedicates time and energy to new authors writing in any genre.

Thomas Bolme, Jr.

Thomas Bolme, Jr. is a teacher, writer, and reader. Way back when he was in college, he decided teaching children about the joys of reading and writing sounded like it might be something worth pursing. And so that’s what he did, earning a BS in Elementary Education, concentrating in the language arts area. Now, years later, he’s still doing that job, and loving every minute of it (except on a few of those rougher days that make him realize why he’s getting a pay check). Currently he is looking into several MFA programs for creative writing and once he stops procrastinating he’ll probably apply.

His other great interests, obviously, are reading and writing. He’s been published in a few magazines and his story "Granddad’s Story: A Tale from Ancient China" won an honorable mention in the 74th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition for the Children’s Fiction category. He is a proofreader for the magazine Strange Horizons and a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Likewise, he is a member of several writers’ workshops for fantasy, science fiction, and horror. That being said, his focus tends to be on fiction in the children’s, fantasy, or science fiction realm.

When he’s not reading, writing, or teaching he tends to be asleep.
